PERSONAL STORY
Medicine has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a young child I grew up in my mother’s clinic in Russia as she was a family physician. As you can imagine, both my older sister and I developed an interest in medicine. After college my sister became a surgeon, specializing in breast surgery. As for me, I started my pre-med studies in school, yet I soon discovered an alternative approach to healing.
While successfully taking my pre-med classes, I had the advantage of learning new perspectives on conventional medicine from both my mother and my sister. They both agreed that though many individuals benefit from Western medical intervention, many do not, and, all too often there are dreadful side-effects which occur as a result of reactions to these medications. They also taught me, unfortunately, that most chronic diseases are not curable.
One day, I met a college friend who transferred from a Western medical school to a college of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He was so impressed with the TCM curriculum that he implored me to 'check it out,’ and I did.
I, too, soon transferred to the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine where I endeavored to study acupuncture and herbal medicine. I was so excited with my choice!
I learned that by treating the 'root' causes of pathology instead of the pathology itself, even chronic conditions could be successfully treated. Through my years of clinical experience, I have found this to be true. Naturally, the more I studied this 'natural medicine,' the more I loved it. This was a major change in my life.
After my two beautiful children were born, my life completely changed, again. Nothing seemed to be more important and more precious to me than my little ones. My life seemed to have come full circle, being fully enveloped with a commitment toward my family and helping others through the benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I now had a new mission in my life!
I look forward to helping you heal and achieve your goals of lifelong wellness.
